Hey WYGU pioneers! Because of you and your input, our community is developing fast, as is our ability to help you achieve your career goals.
As a thank you, we’re offering a 8 free places on the kickstartcareers.co.uk ‘How to find the right career path for you’ eProgramme which is designed for people who are at the career crossroads.
The course is delivered by Mark Anderson, an experienced career coach, and the man behind kickstartcareers.co.uk. It usually retails for RRP £350, but you can have it for free! It’s a 6 week, 10 module course designed to answer: Who am I? What do I want? How do I get it? and is for those who are unclear about what career path to follow and how to link their skills and interests to that career path.
Places on the course will be awarded to the 8 WYGU users who achieve the highest PSR scores over the next 3 weeks (the competition ends on Sunday 22nd May). PSR stands for Personal Social Responsibility – we think that everyone should receive recognition for doing things on WYGU that help other people, so we created PSR points as a way to showcase the value that you bring.
PSR is awarded for all kinds of activity on the site and you can see your current score by going to your profile, then clicking on ‘Info’ – you’ll see it in the ‘Basic Information’ section.
Here are some of the ways in which PSR points are allocated on WYGU:
- Completing your personal and skill profiles
- Becoming a Mentor
- Finding a Mentor or Mentee
- Writing a Blog post
- Creating Groups or Events
- Asking and answering questions in Q&A sections
- Having any of your posts ‘Liked’
- Contributing to the WYGUpedia, either creating new pages or improving on pages that are already there
- Referring / introducing someone to the site
The ‘How to find the right career path for you’ eProgramme will start in May, when we have identified the suitable candidates. If you would like to take advantage of this fantastic free offer then let me know – start by building your PSR and we will then award places to the candidates with the highest scores.
Good luck!
Steven
